the newest da vinci rise rolling classroom was inspired by several conversations with los angeles underserved and underrepresented youth. this sound booth directly responds to the wants and dreams of these students, to give them a space allowing for their own creativity. the off-grid, fully solar, sound booth creates a space for aspiring musicians to write, practice, and mix their own tunes. this project engaged students from the beginning of the design, throughout construction, giving them the opportunity to learn about tools, assemblies, and working as a team. seeing this sound booth come to fruition inspires a continued sense of care about architecture, community, and the power of education.
