studio freeby has partnered with da vinci schools for several years now, working with high school students during design and construction of multiple spaces serving underrepresented and underserved transient and foster youth in inner city LA. the first of the projects was a tiny counseling space and the second a tiny sound booth.

 

the highschoolers building the project are getting first hand design-build experience, exposure to architecture and construction, and an opportunity to serve others.

 

the new client for the tiny space, that is underway, is iCAN + Hermoso Coffee Co. iCAN offers job support/placement, job and lifestyle training, and much more for adults with disabilities. this coffee trailer will allow these people to interact with others, learn on-the-job tasks, and take pride in the work they are doing in a beautiful space.
